Necrobinder

Necrobinder

A Spireborn lich who seeks revenge. Calls upon her trusty left hand, Osty, in combat

HP (Base): 66
HP (Ascension): 52

Unlock: She is unlocked after completing a run with the Regent.

Playstyle guide

The Necrobinder is a new Slay the Spire 2 character—a sharp-tongued lich tied to the Spire’s forgotten past. She is fragile but tactically dense, fighting as a duo: you manage her limited resources while Osty, a massive reanimated skeletal hand, absorbs pressure and enables Summon synergies. Starting relic Osty's Binding summons Osty at combat start.

Osty

Your reanimated hand companion: a physical buffer that can be grown with Summon. Effective HP on Osty does not expire like Block, so protecting and scaling Osty can feel like an endless secondary life pool when built correctly.

Doom

A death-mark: if an enemy’s HP is at or below their Doom stacks at the end of their turn, they are executed. You wait for the tick, but cards tend to offer higher numbers in exchange for that delay.

Strengths

  • Strong manipulation of draw and discard piles
  • Excellent tanking potential when Osty is online
  • Souls can fuel insane card velocity

Weaknesses

  • Builds need real synergy—scattershot picks fall apart
  • Slower, clock-management playstyle that can be tricky to pilot

Deck directions

Doom deck

Stack Doom and survive until enemy turns resolve the execute. Huge effective kill range, but you need Block and consistency so delayed damage doesn’t get you killed first.

Early commons

  • Blight Strike — fair damage with Doom upside (can spike very high)
  • Defile — not Doom-tagged but efficient damage to set up executions
  • Negative Pulse — AoE Doom plus Block; fits the defensive plan
  • Scourge — efficient Doom with built-in draw

Early uncommons

  • Deathbringer — large AoE Doom plus Weak
  • Delay — Block with Energy refund for survival tempo

High synergy

  • Death's Door — strong Block once you run enough Doom density
  • End of Days — accelerates the clock if you can pay the cost
  • No Escape — potent single-target Doom
  • Oblivion — high ceiling with many cheap plays (e.g. Souls)
  • Shroud — turns Doom triggers into fight-long Block
  • Time's Up — finisher vs high-HP elites and bosses

Relics & items

  • Book Repair Knife — steady healing
  • Undying Sigil — weakens enemies on their last living turn

Tips

  • Delayed damage hurts if you can’t Block—treat survival as part of the win condition
  • A small Soul package for draw helps find Doom payoffs instead of leaning on medium cards

Osty deck

Necrobinder’s HP is low; Osty is your shield. Summon grows Osty’s effective health—since it isn’t Block, it doesn’t fall off at turn end. The build aims to keep Osty huge and swinging.

Early commons

  • Pull Aggro — ~11 effective Block value with Summon upside
  • Snap — cheap Osty attack that enables other pieces; Retain adds consistency

Early uncommons

  • High Five — AoE damage plus Vulnerable
  • Rattle — multi-hit Osty damage with strong combo potential

High synergy

  • Fetch — 0-cost self-cycling attack; great with Rattle
  • Flatten — free damage once enough Osty attacks are flowing
  • Necro Mastery — turns defense into AoE offense if Osty can grow reliably
  • Reanimate — big Summon burst (Energy-hungry)
  • Sic 'Em — Osty attack with Summon synergy, especially with Rattle
  • Spur — healing payoff when Osty stays alive

Relics & items

  • Bone Flute — small Block that still moves tough fights

Tips

  • This path is about growing and preserving Osty; sacrificial tools (e.g. Bone Shards) are a different angle—don’t mix conflicting game plans blindly
